A number of common medications — ones taken every day by millions of people — can deplete the body of essential nutrients over time. The medications still do their job, but the nutrient picture can change in ways most patients are never told about.
What this looks like
One of our pharmacists reviews the medications you currently take and identifies which ones, based on the published research, are associated with depletion of specific vitamins or minerals. We then talk through whether a supplement or dietary adjustment makes sense for your situation, in coordination with your physician.
Who this is for
Anyone on long-term medications — particularly for blood pressure, cholesterol, reflux, diabetes, or hormonal therapy — can benefit from a quick depletion review. Some common medications that may deplete nutrients include, but are not limited to, Metformin for diabetes, Lisinopril for blood pressure, and statins for cholesterol.

We’ve put together a chart of many commonly used medications and the nutrients they can deplete.
What it costs
The counseling is part of the regular pharmacy service we offer our patients. There’s no separate charge.
